Complete a Pokémon set, every finish included

A Pokémon card set is complete when you own every card in every finish it exists in: the normal one and, if there is one, its reverse holo. That is why a set has more pieces than cards: Prismatic Evolutions is 180 cards and 281 pieces, about €2,448 for all of them on 24 October 2026.

What is a master set?

Collectors call owning every card of a set in every version a master set. Many apps track it separately from a one-copy-per-card “set”; Prism only counts the real complete set, every card in every finish, so there are never two different numbers for the same thing.

Why does a reverse count as another piece?

Because it is a different physical card: the same artwork with the shine on the background instead of the picture, sold separately at its own price. Special cards (ex, illustration rares, secret rares) usually exist in a single finish, which is why sets like Mega Evolution: 30th Anniversary have as many pieces as cards.

How does Prism track it?

  1. Add your cards with the scanner or search, with their finish.
  2. In Browse and Collection, every set shows how far you are (for example 20/199) and what the rest would cost.
  3. The set page lists what you are missing, finish by finish, cheapest first.
